Solid Nor’ Easter to start November

A potent low pressure system will form off of the Carolina coast this weekend and track slowly NNE.  The combination of this low and building high pressure from New England will result in moderate to strong NE wind fetch over  the entire east coast. We will have a quickly building NE swell on Saturday producing head high surf by the afternoon. Sunday holds and we have  a very slow decline through most of next week. There will be enough fetch to produce swell periods of 10-12 seconds in Carolina which should allow us to enjoy some fun and sizable surf for several days. Classic Nor’ Easter set -up. Water temps have drop to the mid 60′s and the  tides will be rising late day with a full moon on Tuesday. I expect the surf to be solid this weekend with plenty of tasty leftovers well in to Thursday. This swell will send the first “real” samplings of winter to our brothers in the Caribbean by early next week. Expect 8′ to 10′ faces  from the NNW on the north shore of Puerto Rico  Monday.
